Building Confidence Through Personalized Learning—One Student at a Time
TutorMeK5 is the flagship educational program of Inner City Youth, Inc. Since 2011, TutorMeK5 has provided individualized one-on-one and small-group tutoring designed to help elementary students strengthen their academic skills, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Barbara Harding believes that every child learns differently. By creating a positive, encouraging, and personalized learning environment, TutorMeK5 gives struggling students the opportunity to succeed at their own pace.
What began with one student soon became a mission.
While working for a tutoring company, Barbara was assigned to tutor a young elementary student after school. His mother saw remarkable improvement in her son's academic progress and asked Barbara to continue tutoring him privately. That one family's trust became the beginning of TutorMeK5.
Over time, parents throughout Aurora and Denver communities began referring other families, and one student's success grew into a program that has served more than 500 elementary students.
One-on-one tutoring allows instruction to be tailored to each child's unique learning style and needs. Students receive individualized attention, build confidence, ask questions without fear, and progress at a pace that supports lasting academic growth.
Personalized instruction helps transform frustration into confidence, empowering students to discover that they are capable of succeeding.

TutorMeK5 serves elementary students throughout the Aurora, Cherry Creek, and the greater Denver area, with a special emphasis on helping children who need additional academic support and encouragement. TutorMeK5 began with one elementary student whose mother believed he needed additional academic support. After seeing remarkable improvement while Barbara was tutoring him through a tutoring company, she asked Barbara to continue working with her son privately.
Barbara tutored him from kindergarten through the end of third grade, helping him build the confidence and academic foundation needed for future success.
Today, he is a student at the University of Colorado Boulder.
His journey is a reminder that individualized support, encouragement, and believing in a child can make a lasting difference.
One student. One opportunity. A lifetime of possibilities.
